The 6th Annual Great Cleveland Clean-Up will be a two day event happening on April 27 and April 28, 2019 in an attempt to pick-up all of the litter from Cuyahoga County.
HELP US REMOVE ALL THE LITTER FROM CUYAHOGA COUNTY
Join us as we attempt to pick up all of the litter from Cleveland and Cuyahoga County in one weekend. In order to remove all of the litter from Cuyahoga County, we need 4,000 volunteers. Last year just under 1,000 volunteers attended between 33 meet-up locations. This year we are shooting for 2,500 total between 50 meet-up locations.
Before we divide into teams, volunteers are taught how to recycle and are educated on the effects of litter. We will spread out into teams of five, removing as much litter as possible in just a few hours. Volunteers primarily focus on removing litter from parks, sidewalks, playgrounds, shore-ways, highway exists, and highway entrances. Litter is everywhere. The Great Cleveland Clean-Up is an opportunity for employees or students to receive community service hours.
Use the new hashtag #LitterBugzMe or the original hashtag #iHateTrash to help us raise awareness. We improve our culture. Scroll to the bottom to register.
Our cleaning events are organized passionately by people who volunteer to pick up litter. We encourage others to create change in hopes to inspire an environmentally friendly culture. Litter is a distraction. Litter also disturbs people. Without litter, resources are more accessible. People tend to gravitate towards cleaner areas spending more money with local businesses. Making the environment more attractive improves the economy.
